HKV Employee Benefits

Hospice of Kankakee Valley is an exceptional place to work! You will work with a dedicated, caring staff that believes in teamwork. Employee benefits are generally available to those employees regularly scheduled for 20 hours per week or more. Some of these great benefits are listed below. (Waiting periods and restrictions do apply for some benefits; please see the Human Resources office for more information.)

  • Competitive salaries: HKV reviews and updates salary ranges on an annual basis, as needed, to stay competitive. We offer annual salary increases and bonuses based on performance, years of service, available resources and other factors.

  • Generous Retirement plan: Hospice of Kankakee Valley contributes annually to a SEP-IRA retirement account for each eligible employee. In recent years the level of this contribution has ranged from 6%-9% of each employee’s annual salary. In addition, voluntary participation in a 403(b) tax sheltered annuity plan with numerous investment funds is available.

  • Time off plans: Part time and full time employees are eligible for paid vacation, personal days, sick days and designated holidays annually. The number of days available varies based upon hours worked, length of service and exempt status.

  • Life insurance and Long Term Disability Insurance: These benefits are completely funded by Hospice of Kankakee Valley for all eligible employees.

  • Medical Insurance: We offer a PPO plan, which is partially funded by Hospice of Kankakee Valley. Employee only or family coverage is available. 90% coverage for most services when using an in-network provider, $500 deductible, prescription plan included.
