Special Wish Fund

Recently, a “Special Wish” fund was set up at the request of Jim Bridgewater Sr. This fund received donations from Mr. Bridgewater and a number of other generous contributors. These funds are designated to provide extraordinary items or extra services not covered by the Medicare hospice benefit to patients and their families. The idea of the “Special Wish” fund is to provide these last wishes with minimal bureaucratic documentation. Examples of “Special Wishes” include airfare for a relative to see their dying family member one last time, Christmas presents for a needy patient’s children, or an anniversary gift from the patient for his wife on their last anniversary together.
