Volunteer Opportunities and Activities
Hospice of Kankakee Valley was originally organized as a
volunteer hospice, and we continue to recognize and appreciate the important role
our volunteers have on the hospice team! Each volunteer brings a unique
combination of interests, experience, and talents to the hospice program. We
are fortunate to have on our team volunteers from every walk of
life—from firefighters and students to attorneys and full-time
homemakers. Whatever your talents, Hospice of Kankakee Valley has a need you
can fill. A screening interview and orientation at HKV and a 21 hour training
course are required for volunteers who work directly with patients and families.
“The
benefits I receive from being a Hospice volunteer far outweigh any efforts I
put forth. . .It's a joyous feeling to contribute to
such a noble cause.”
